What is the world record for the longest plank

In a recent blog post, plank world record holder George Hood announced a new, staggering time for the record: 10 hours, 1 minute, and 1 second. This beats the previous record by over an hour!

George Hood is no stranger to setting records; he also holds the Guinness World Record for the longest abdominal plank. He told reporters that he was motivated to beat his own record after another planker, Mao Weidong of China, broke Hood’s previous record with a time of 8 hours, 1 minute, and 1 second.

“When somebody breaks your record, it’s like them saying they’re better than you,” said Hood. “I had to show the world that I’m still the king of planks.”

Hood’s training regimen for this attempt included several long planking sessions leading up to the big day. On the day of the attempt, he started at 6am and stopped at 4:01pm- giving him a full 10 hours on his feet (or rather, on his elbows and toes).

“It wasn’t easy,” said Hood. “But I’m happy with the result.”

With this new world record, Hood cements his place as one of the greatest endurance athletes in history.
